Please look in our online store for upcoming class dates.
The entire License to Carry Class, shooting included, takes place at our range facilities in the Nash Business Park off HW 82 and takes 5-6 hours.
This is not a class to teach new shooters how to use their firearms, though we do offer private lessons to help with preparation for this class. There is a shooting test that must be passed to obtain the license to carry. Students must test with a handgun and bring 50 rounds of ammunition for the shooting test. There is now NO minimum caliber requirement, and you may shoot either a revolver or a semi-auto and carry either of your choosing. You can see what the shooting test will be here.
Students will pay a class fee (ours is $75 and must be paid in advance to secure a spot in the class) as well as electronic fingerprinting fees (about $10) and fees to the state of Texas.
If you have a Texas drivers license or ID issued through DPS they will use the photo they have on file for your LTC. If you are non-Texas resident you will have to provide a passport-style photo.
The average person's cost is about $40 to the state of Texas. Students pay the state fees whenever they fill out their state paperwork, which can be done before or after the class here.
Minimum eligibility age for the LTC is 21 years of age. Students do not have to be Texas residents, but if they are not they will receive a non-resident Texas license.
Previous students! You may use this link to upload your paperwork to the DPS website, rather than mail it in.
Or, if you don’t have a scanner or aren’t computer savvy, you can mail in your supporting documents. When you finish your online paperwork on the Texas DPS website you will get a checklist with the address to mail your documents to.
